Wake theme party/over the hill

We had attended a lot of funerals in a very short time, but I reflected that the people we had the wake for were not there to enjoy it!
So as my 50th birthday aproached I decided to have a "formal" WAKE as the theme.

It was black tie. lots of flowers & candles decorated the area.

I had the cake made: a mud cake in the shape of a coffin, with miniture handles on the sides & tiny lillies on top.

We had a great time. what was planned as a party expected to last just a few hours, the last guests departed more than 8 hours later!
