Graduation celebration - X (as in MMX or 2010) is what is required as the theme

by Linda Diseati
(Fairfax , Virginia)

Hi, I'm in desperate need of some ideas for an ALL NIGHT GRAD PARTY (ANGP) for our high school. The committee came up with the theme X.....????? How in the world do you decorate around that theme? They want it to be very glitzy...Las Vegasy. I'm thinking lots of white lights, strobe lights, a great big X and 2010 all lit up with lights, balloon bouquets. handmade palm trees lining the entry. That's about where my imagination ends. Any ideas on further decorations I could do????
PLEASE HELP....time is of the essence!
THANK YOU!!!!

Ideas for X party
by: Krista Blaes

I can see where this one could be challenging. I think you are on the right track. Why not think of it as a party to the X-treme! Use black and white for your base colors on chairs, tablecloths, etc. Use red as the accent color to make things pop. If they want glitz Las Vegas style, try Baroque themed décor. Just Google Baroque Décor and you?ll see all the wonderful damask prints, rich velvets, chandeliers, feathers and more. Other ideas for inspiration are Phantom of the Opera, Cabaret, Cirque de Soleil. Pick and choose the things you like best and you can?t miss!
