Golf Theme Party

Can you host a great golf theme party from home? Absolutely!

If you're hosting during the warm months, consider using your patio and backyard. You can even set-up a mini golf course for guests to enjoy!

This doesn't have to be anything fancy. You can use cups turned sideways for holes, some inexpensive flagging, and you're good to go.

Use fun items from around the house and yard for obstacles, such as the doghouse, a kid's swing set or toys, or create the course around your landscaping.

You can do this indoors, too, if necessary (but you might want to consider using plastic golf balls!). Find some inexpensive gag gifts for the winners or make some trophies.

Invite guests to dress in "old school" golf attire for added fun. Checkered pants and golf caps never go out of party style! Create your own invitations from blank cards or look for some inexpensive preprinted cards. You can download and print golf balls, clubs, and grass from your computer as well, or look for golf related stickers and stamps (stamps can run a bit high in price, so take that under consideration.). Golf scorecards also make great invitations.

For decorations, use green and white colors. Use any golfing equipment you have to spread around for ambiance. If it's in your budget, consider some life-size cut outs of your favorite golfers. You can also use pictures from magazines to hang on walls and put on tables. You can enlarge these on a high-quality copier for little cost as well.

Foods can be anything suitable for warm weather. Consider offering light drinks such as lemonade, ice teas, wine coolers, or daiquiris. Easy foods such as sandwiches, hamburgers, or hot dogs are perfect for this type of party, prepared indoors or on the barbeque. A sandwich bar is a fun and easy option, too.
