Fortune 100 best places to work celebration lunch

by Michele Turner
(Oklahoma)

The company I work for made the Fortune 100 Best Places to Work list for the 3rd year in a row. I am organizing a lunch party for around 150 people. I need ideas for decorations/theme. The audience is about 75% men 40 and over in age. No alcohol. Not sure on food at this point...trying to come up a theme and plan food around that. We just had a Crab Boil/cajun theme a couple of months ago which I would like to do again because it is easy...but I got overruled. No suggestions for something else. Just a NO on the Cajun theme. I appreciate any ideas you might have.

Thanks,
Michele

Coming up with a theme that pleases a primarily male audience can be a challenge. Why not go for something obvious but make the decorations bring it up a notch?

Try a Pondersa or Cattle Brand inspired party. Most men love steak and potatoes. Use Holstein print table coverings, western kerchief napkins and leather napkin rings. Have steaks branded with your company logo. Use wildflowers, wheat and more for arrangements. Place horseshoes on the tables. Stage food or dessert table with heavy rope, spurs, cowboy hat, etc.
