Fabulous Fifties

We are throwing my sister a 50s themed bridal shower. Our main theme is recreating a diner from the 50s. We are calling it the "Remember When" Diner.

We have it set up in a garage, draping the room in black dollar store tablecloths. Got some neat fifties border from a party america store, attached that along with many soda shoppe decals such as faux menus, stools, old cars and guitars and of course a juke box (behind this on the other side of the black backdrop is the actual music being played from a cd player good ol fashioned 50s music.

We have ketchup and mustard bottles and old chrome retro napkin holders salt and pepper shakers and a faux menu on a "counter top". We will have 4 or 5 round tables for guests to sit these are covered witha black tablecloth(also from dollar store) and are decorated with green coke glasses filled with dubble bubble bubble gum and attached to this are 3 balloons in turquoise and pink to bring in the 50s colors. We will be hanging real 45 records from ceiling at varying heights for a ceiling decor.

We will be serving burgers and fries in red baskets and of course root beer floats and brown cows (coke floats). We have a seperate cake table/gift table and to top it off we have an old classic 57 in the driveway where all our guest can have their photo taken with my sister to help remember her special day.

We are asking the guests to come dressed in 50s attire such as poodle skirts. We also are sending out record invitations, all the info on them, saying meet us at the "remember when diner" and then list the address of the party. It should be a day to remember.
