Block Party For Adult Community Residents

by Dorothy
(Locust Grove)

I live in an adult community and we want to have a block party. We need a real "catchy" theme to bring people out and peak their interest. We are looking for something other than "Meet and Greet". Any suggestions?

Seafood boil block party
by: Krista Blaes

A fun theme for a block party is a Cajun Affair. Have a signup sheet so neighbors bring key ingredients such as corn cobbettes, carrots, shrimp or crawfish and more.

Just start the water boiling with some seafood boil pouches and add ingredients as folks arrive. Strain once done and empty onto platters on the tables.

Decorating is fun and easy. Use newspapers to cover tables. Put lanterns on the tables with some seashells. You can add Mardi Gras beads to the mix to keep it festive.
