A Vanilla flavoured bride to be.......

by Michelle
(Rustenburg, South Africa)

Hi Party Planner!

My friend is getting married in a month's time, and I am the one to plan the Kitchen tea / hen party / pamper party...something like that.. BUT, she really doesn't want anything for her kitchen ( so goodbey kitchen tea ) and she does NOT want underwear or anything to do with the 'u' word. A pamper party will cost us too much, so now what...? I have however decided on a theme... She absolutely LOVES anything and everything vanilla flavoured, even her perfume is vanilla.. so Ive managed to find vanilla flavoured water, milk, sugar, cupcakes, sweets, you name it....then I thought, what about a theme called vanilla diamonds..... almost like a diamonds and denim theme.. what can I do to entertain the guests though? I cannot do the naughty things that would be done for a bachelorette party, as her mother and gran and most of the family will also be there. Please give me some hints on what I can do to make it fun, exiting and interesting and some more ideas on decorating.

Thanx a million!
Michelle

Vanilla Diamond Shower

Featuring her favorite scent is perfect. A nice color scheme would be cream, chocolate brown and pastel pink or blue. Polka-dots would be a cute touch.

Ask guests to bring their favorite Vanilla inspired recipes and create a special cookbook as a keepsake. Ask them to include their idea of the perfect recipe for a happy marriage as well.

For an activity, provide the ingredients for guests to mix-up vanilla scented potpourri, bath oils or bath salts that they can take home with them. Vanilla scented sachets would be easy to make and serve as a fun party favor for guests. Or, give away Vanilla flavored lip gloss.

For food, have a dessert and gourmet coffee bar setup. Or have fun with a dessert fondue bar with vanilla flavored white chocolate for dipping. Try a wine and Vanilla dessert tasting or have a Vanilla Ice Cream Social.

For a fun game, create your own Vanilla trivia. Give away Vanilla scented candle to the winner. Check out these sites for interesting facts:
