75th Birthday Party for Italian Mom

My Mom is turning 75 years old this coming June/2010 & we want to have a party in her honour in a Restaurant. Being Italian we want to have the theme be Italian, of course.

Any ideas on how to entertain our guests(mostly family & few of her friends)in a Restaurant?

We are planning on having a photo slide show of Mom over the years. My brother is making a toast on behalf of her children & grandchildren. We are trying to see if we can get a strolling accordian player to entertain. This is where we are stumped. We can't think of anything else.

We would like to play some Italian 'indoor game'but the trouble is Mom's brothers are also Seniors so we don't want any game involving exertion. We want some game where every one can stay seated but we can't come up with any ideas.

Anything you can offer to help would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, we live in Canada, just thought I'd mention that. Mom has been in Canada since 1955.

Activity Ideas for 75th Italian theme party

I suggest an Italian themed trivia game. This would allow guests to stay seated. Include historical events, famous Italian artists, actors and actresses. You could even use the last portion of the photo slide show to introduce the questions.

Have trivia sheets at each place setting. Give prizes to the top scores. Have multiple choice, true or false, or matching.

There is a resource on Amazon.com, the Ultimate Italian Trivia: A Treasure Trove of Fun and Fascinating Facts.
