18th Birthday Party Theme

by Martina
(Taormina, Italy)

Hi, I'm Martina from Italy, I want to throw a special 18th birthday party, here all 18th parties are the same, everyone is dressed in an elegant suit and there's a banquet. But I want to make something special, a theme party, not too expensive for the guests (costumes etc.) and simple, but also something that people won't forget. I thought about the Alice in wonderland theme, but I'm considering pretty much everything right now... I would love if you could give me some advice!!! thank you!!!

Through the rabbit hole

The Alice in Wonderland theme would be amazing. What fun to have such whimsical decor. You can find great photos of parties online.

Put tags on drink bottles that read drink me. And food labels with eat me on them. Use a deck of cards to guide your color choices. Red, black and white are dramatic and will make a statement.

Or, recreate the colorful scenes from the tea party. Use fake grass as a tablecloth, decorate with various sizes of colorful flowers and foliage. Add a teapot centerpiece. And don't forget pocket watches.

If you want something more extreme, lean towards the Gothic influence. Black and white checkered pattern, deep reds, dramatic decor like red roses with black tulle. For a little flair add black or white top hats.

If you are concerned about costs for guests, provide a mask with your invites that they can wear as is or decorate for the occasion.

Wishing you an amazing event!
